SANTA ROSA — Horizon Air said today the airline will add a second flight between Santa Rosa and Seattle from April 6 through Oct. 26. The flight is being added to better accommodate the need for air travel to and from Sonoma County when demand is traditionally the highest.

The new seasonal flight will depart from Santa Rosa at 8:35 p.m. and from Seattle at 5:55 p.m. It will be in addition to year-round service to Seattle that is currently offered from Santa Rosa at 10:30 a.m. and from Seattle at 12:45 p.m. The flights take two hours and 10 minutes.

"Adding a second flight for the spring and summer will enable more business and leisure travelers to enjoy the convenience of flying into and out of Charles M. Schulz/Sonoma County Airport," said Dan Russo, Horizon's director of marketing and communications. "The service we initiated in March 2007 has been warmly welcomed, and we're glad to be in a position to build upon that."

"I am thrilled to see our partnership with Horizon expand with another flight to Seattle," said Sonoma County Supervisor Paul Kelley. "Air service continues to be a crucial part of our economic vitality in Sonoma County."

In addition to Seattle flights, Horizon also serves Sonoma County with daily nonstop flights to Los Angeles and Portland. All flights are operated with the airline's quiet and comfortable 76-seat Q400 turboprop aircraft.

Tickets for the additional Santa Rosa-Seattle flight are available for sale now through horizonair.com or by calling Horizon Air Reservations at 800-547-9308.
