SPOKANE, WASH. — Horizon Air is celebrating 25 years of continuous service to Spokane International Airport with a customer appreciation event at the C Concourse ticket counter area on July 10.

"Time has flown by. It's hard to believe Horizon and Spokane have already arrived at their silver anniversary, like a happily married couple," said Dan Russo, vice president of marketing and communications for Horizon. "Spokane is an anchor in Horizon's Pacific Northwest route system. Our hourly shuttle service to Seattle and flights to Boise, Portland and Los Angeles provide Spokane with vital links to other important business centers."

"We're elated that we're celebrating 25 years of our association with Horizon Air," said Neal Sealock, Spokane airport director. "We've very much appreciated the service Horizon has provided over the years and look forward to continuing our relationship."

Sealock will be master of ceremonies for the celebratory event, which is kicking off at 11 a.m. with a presentation by Spokane business community representatives and Jeff Pinneo, Horizon's president and CEO. Scheduled to participate are Bonnie Mager, chair of the Spokane County Board of Commissioners; Joe Shogan, president of the Spokane City Council; David Bruckart, Spokane Airport board member; Harry Sladich, Spokane Regional Convention and Visitors Bureau president and CEO; and Rich Hadley, Greater Spokane Inc. president and CEO.

Horizon will also serve refreshments, display memorabilia dating back to the early 1980s (including vintage photographs, timetables and employee uniforms), and hold a 1983 trivia contest in the gate area for customers (prizes include two tickets on Horizon).

Horizon began serving Spokane on July 1, 1983, with weekday flights to Portland, Ore., and weekend flights to Pasco, Wash. continuing on to Portland, on 40-seat Fairchild F-27 turboprops. Since that time, Horizon's service to Spokane has grown to 21 daily flights with service to four destinations – Seattle, Portland, Boise and Los Angeles. Horizon currently provides the service with 74/76-seat Bombardier Q400 high-speed turboprops and 70-seat Bombardier CRJ-700 jets. Horizon has transported more than 6.2 million passengers from the Spokane area since its first day serving the airport.

Horizon serves 48 cities throughout Arizona, California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Baja California Sur (Mexico), and British Columbia and Alberta (Canada). Together, Horizon Air and Alaska Airlines serve 92 cities and are subsidiaries of Alaska Air Group, Inc. (NYSE:ALK).
