Nonstop Flights Between San Jose and Palm Springs Return to Horizon Air's Winter Schedule

SEATTLE – Horizon Air is bringing back its seasonal once-daily, nonstop service between San Jose and Palm Springs, Calif., this Dec. 14 through April 27, 2009. Horizon inaugurated the winter service last year.
"Based on the strong response to our inaugural service, we suspect that Bay Area residents can't wait to once again thaw out in the sunny warmth of Palm Springs and experience all the recreation this world-class resort destination offers," said Dan Russo, vice president of marketing and communications for Horizon. "We're pleased to be able to offer this convenient getaway again this winter season."

The new flights will be operated with 70-seat CRJ-700 regional jets and feature Horizon's special brand of inflight service, which includes premium Jones Soda, snacks, Starbucks coffee, wine and microbrews at no additional charge.
The new flights are available now and can be booked online at www.horizonair.com or by calling 1-800-547-9308. The flight departs San Jose at 12:15 p.m. and arrives in Palm Springs at 1:50 p.m. The return flight departs Palm Springs at 2:30 p.m. and arrives in San Jose at 4:05 p.m.
Horizon and Alaska currently serve Palm Springs with year-round nonstop flights from Sacramento, San Francisco and Seattle, and winter season nonstop flights from Portland. Members of the Horizon Air/Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan can earn 500 miles on the flight, bringing them closer to earning free travel worldwide on Horizon, Alaska and their numerous airline partners.
