Horizon Air to Offer Portland-Reno Service

Portland - Horizon Air said today the airline will offer new nonstop service between Portland and Reno starting April 3, 2006.

"Portland-Reno has been one of our most frequently requested new routes," said Patrick Zachwieja, Horizon's vice president of marketing and planning. "This new service will also benefit our customers in Eugene, Klamath Falls, Medford, North Bend, Pendleton and Redmond/Bend by providing them with more convenient connections to Reno through Portland."

Horizon will offer one daily flight each way between Portland and Reno. From April 3 through April 29, the Portland-Reno flight will depart Portland at 12:45 p.m. and arrive in Reno at 2:20 p.m. Starting April 30, the flight will depart Portland at 1:05 p.m. and arrive in Reno at 2:40 p.m. The return flight from Reno to Portland will depart Reno at 2:10 p.m. and arrive in Portland at 3:45 p.m. All flights will be operated with 74-seat Q400 high-speed turboprops.

Horizon has served Reno since 2005 and currently offers nonstop service between Reno and Los Angeles. Horizon's sister company, Alaska Airlines, also serves Reno with daily nonstops to Seattle.
